Which camelbak for mountain biking?

There is so many to choose from. Which would you mountain bikers suggest I get? I do drink a lot whilst riding so 2ltrs would be ideal.

How long are you riding for?, do you carry loads of spares and kit?, do you want it for just liquid and a snack?
For a reasonable (few hours off road in spares hungry terrain) with liquid and snacks and a comprehensive tool kit the MULE is superb. I have used it to support a 16 hour ride, with a few stops. Light, comfy and unobtrusive with enough cargo space for an enduro.

Saying that, next bag will be a wingnut....

Agree, Mule is a good rucksack, have been using one for a while and don't really notice it even with a couple of litres, multitool, pump, snacks etc on board. Only thing it could do with is a built in cover as it gets very mucky.

The wingnuts do look interesting though...

personally, i use as small a bag as possible otherwise there is the inclination to fill it up with stuff to stop things rattling around.

I've got a Camelbak Rogue. It looks to be quite a bit smaller than the Mule but there's plenty of room for stuff if you're not going to be riding all day.

The Mule is great, as is the HAWG which is slightly larger.

I've got a Havoc which is pretty big but ideal for Alpine riding.

Osprey bags seem really good, I might go for one of those next - although my Havoc shows no signs of dying after five plus years of hard use!

Me too. It's big enough for a day's worth of nosh and an extra layer if you pack right...

That's what I use although my rides tend to be sub 3hour

Carries : spare tube, toolkit, patches, tyre boot, tyre levers, links, pump, energy bars, keys, phone.

If you need to carry a jacket etc then you'll need to look elsewhere though.

Sorry I should have replied sooner. I ride for 2-3 hours max at the moment. I do drink a lot whilst I am riding though.

Does the Mule get annoying being on your back whilst you're riding? It looks a lot bigger than the Rogue which is the one I am leaning more towards atm.

Mule is very comfortable.

I have a High Sierra 2L camelbak which I got from CostCo for <£15 and it has been incredible.
