Obscure bike help!

I've been offered this:



for about £50.

As my mountain bike is gradually evolving into a road bike I wanted to test the waters on the 'do I want a road bike' question. However I don't want to be put off for life!

Clearly all the unnecessary tat will have to come off together with those spectacular handlebars, but is the base OK?

Google tells me nothing

Any thoughts?

I think the forks look a bit bent back. 50 quid isn't a massive amount. New saddle and take the antlers of the front and it might make a good tourer/winter bike.

Have a look on Ebay for what £50 buys you. You can do better than that by some margin.
