Could do with some new tyres for my Hybrid (Giant Roam XR1) - I don't do that many miles and its currently got Schwalbe Racing Ralph Evos fitted however I'm not sure I need anything that fancy (ie expensive) as I only tend to pootle around on the NCN paths with it. Most of the time I have my son in a seat behind me although he's getting a bit heavy for that so will probably go for a tag along set-up fairly soon.

Have to say the rear is well worn and I've probably done less than 2k miles. Also I've noticed the side walls are very weak and can be easily cut which is something that Bike Radar commented on. I have found replacements for sale for just over £30 each but can't help thinking I'm probably better off with something a bit more robust and hard wearing for the use that they will get.

Thanks in advance.

Schwalbe CX Comp's, around £10-12 each. Technically a cyclocross tyre hence got light tread, but still fast rolling and are fairly robust IME. I use them for a mixed-surface commute and have only had a couple of puncture in daily use over 12 months.

That looks a good shout - thanks. I see Giant are fitting that tyre to the 2012 Roam Series instead of the Racing Ralph which mine came with a few years ago. Planet X have them for £9.99 but £20 min spend for free delivery - plenty of other places seem to sell them for £11-12ish delivered though.

Thanks again.

Michelin Pilot Roadsport - £8 each. Really great tyre. Got them because I was being tight when building my fixed, but they are great. Prefer them to Schwalbe Marathon Sports - more grip in the wet.
