BMC MTB - anyone got one?
Discussion
I'm looking at treating myself to a new bike with the companies ride2work scheme (first new bike since 1993) and whilst browsing the Evans site (the scheme is Evans only) keep coming back to the BMC Teamelite TE04 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bmc/teamelite-...
It is pretty well specced for the price point, and has a funky frame design, my current bike it an old steel GT
Searching for reviews there are lots for road bikes, which are in the main positive, but very few for MTB's. So does anyone one here own one, or ride with an owner to give an opinion on this?
TIA

Hi there,
For that type of price, I would be looking at the all new Decathlon BTwin Rockrider 9.1 available on the cycle scheme.
Much better geometry and much more for your money. May be worth purchasing this weeks "what mountain bike" magazine if your serious as they have a section on £800~ bikes and the Rockrider comes out on top I believe!

I've had a BMC Trailfox 02 for the past two years now and I have found it to be excellent for trails and some downhill stuff. It was great going up and fun going down (fnar fnar!) - I wanted something with a bit more travel so I have bought a Lapierre Spicy.
Evans discounted the BMC from 2500 to 1500 which was also nice.
The components (Shimano SLX) and build-quality are excellent and overall I have found it to be a very nice and capable bike.
Without wishing to hijack the thread I'm selling it (it is an XL size in very good condition - a few minor scratches as you would expect from having been used, mostly around Swinley)for around 850 quid if anybody is interested.
