I only really thought Mongoose did BMX' but after dropping into my now LBS in sunny Oz i have found a vast range of MTB' for sale, in particular i was looking at this one just for blasting around on as theres plenty of open land around here!

Anyone any opinions or reviews? The webs not bringing up a lot except that Walmart sell the s**t ones biggrin

The price is a fair bit less than this but the bikes not for anything serious.

Seems not entirely unreasonable spec for the price, but not amazing value. Paulscycles seem to have the teocali elite on permanent offer which looks like a good spec for the price

They are great bikes, very underestimated. I have the 2006 Teocali Elite and other than the bearings which seem to go at a slightly faster rate than my other half's Orange 5, I don't have a bad word to say about it! The freedrive system at the rear takes a little bit to get used to if you've ridden other bikes often but it gives a very stable ride especially over rough stuff. I've spent hundreds on mine upgrading and wouldn't change it for anything at that price!

I'm currently on my second Teocali frame and regard them very highly.

The only real downside of the freedrive system is that it seems to leave you with a lower bottom bracket height than conventional designs - once you learn to cope with this the way the bike handles rough trails will more than compensate.

I would strongly recommend getting whichever spec currently has air shocks as they transform the bike for relatively little cost.

My current bike is a 2005 model and apart from needing a few bearings for the suspension is in great condition considering the lack of TLC its had recently.

When I bought the first model I found it was 9/10 as good as bikes costing 50% more and I am more than happy with the choice I made.
