Thought this might be of interest if living/working in London.

Bike accessory manufacturer Blackburn will be giving away thousands of pounds worth of free bike lights in the City of London on Monday, October 31. Blackburn has generously decided to give away front and rear sets of its Click bike lights, SRP £19.99, on the corner of Queen Street and Cannon Street at 5.30pm. TODAY ONLY.

I'm at home, about 5/6 miles away. Can jump in a cab if you'd like to pay the fare. hehe

They were fixing them to your bike. Whilst I understand that this is a good way of making sure only cyclists got them, and only one set, it does seem a bit stupid to me.

The only people that can get free lights are the people who have lights and cycled to work. Those without lights, who couldn't cycle to work, couldn't get any lights that would enable them to cycle. Duuurrrr...

(I have lights, but got the Tube today, hence no lights for the wife's bike, so she could start cycling.)

Strewth! As you say, 'tis easy to see the reason behind it but, am guessing they never gave many pairs away. Certainly not the thousands of pounds they mentioned. They would have done better cruising the suburbs on the lookout for cyclists without lights. frown

Didn't miss out too much. I used mine one night last week and the rear one got a bit moist. Now it won't turn off. furious
