Was anyone else watching the Gadget show last night?

They were going over old challenges and trying to beat them. Otis was doing the airjet bike thingy and whilst looking for "the most suitable bike" decided on a cyclocross bike with "top spec brakes as used in the Tour de France"

Here: http://fwd.channel5.com/gadget-show/blog/series-16... from 3:40 on

Even my 8 year old daughter (who moans whenever I have cycling on TV) agreed with me that he was an idiot biggrin

He'd of gone quicker on a faired recumbent (the IHPVA world record for human power alone is 82mph)

Thats said- he'd have gone quicker wearing more suitable clothing too, bike leathers and helmet not being known for the aerodynamics and light weight!

Does anyone know what the wobble he encountered at ~40mph would be? I guessed at the extra battery weight in the frame upsetting the geometry somehow, but not sure how exactly.

Speed wobble is almost always caused by the rider - relaxing, shifting weight and changing contact points generally make it go away.
