Buying a 2011 model bike

Hi guys,

I'm quite taken with a 2011 model Merida full suspension that I am due to test this weekend. It is retailing at the moment everywhere at £1199. I know that discounts are usually available on bikes that are about to be superseded, but I wanted to check first about how common this is and if so, what deals the shops are usually willing to provide.

2012 stuff is being delivered at the moment so there are obviously sales on. your best bet is to keep an eye on your price bracket and see what drops into it rather than keep chasign a particualr bike and then pull the trigger when you are happy with whatever deal is on offer. that said if you like the merida, just get on and buy it. its unlikely to drop much in price and the shops should be able to chuck in some pedals or something for the deal.

2012 stuff is being touted as slightly better value in comparison to previous years but it wont be significant.

Try places like http://paulscycles.co.uk/ who specialise in previous years models. Plenty of big discounts although no Meridas on there
