Is this too good to be true or what they are worth?

I have been offered a Spesh Allez Sport with a brand new set of wheels (old wheels present just a bit noisy) all components look ok and no serious damage for the sum of £250. It's got a decent mini pump, Cat Eye and brand new Grand Prix 4 Seasons fitted! The guy who owns it apparently got a bonus and decided to upgrade his winter bike and despite just having had this serviced and buying new wheels on the recommendation of the LBS he wants rid. Seems like the perfect winter bike to me?

Sounds a bargain. I have one of those (with a triple) that I got a couple of months ago - cost considerably more than £250, and if it's in the nick you say it is and you don't like it you could probably get your money back plus a chunk on Ebay. Got to be worth a punt hasn't it?

all depends if you know the seller? sounds cheap, if you know you can trust him then buy it.

if you dont know him then ask a few questions about the bike, why he chose those particular new wheels, why isnt he keeping the add-on stuff? what he is replacing it with and why? check its all as he claims it is. take a tape measure to make sure the frame size is as he claims (if its stolen it will most likely be advertised as a large if its a medium etc)

Its coming in later for me to take a look at, all good advice there and I hope it is as it seems!

Sounds like a steal to me I have one so keep an eye on prices and 2year old ones still fetch 330-350 so if you don't like it you'd still turn a profit

Its in there. Couldn't say no really with the brand new wheels and tyres. Looking at the graphocs its a 2005 but it has been regularly serviced and just a few marks here and there. End of the day £250 doesn't buy much and I am more than happy with it.
