Does anyone own one of these? I'm thinking of getting one as my first road bike. The 2011 model is starting to be discounted down to £899 from £1199 which seems like a good deal. The only problem is that the shops who do 0% finance will only do it on the full price and not the discounted price.

You are paying a lot for the brand name, considering you can get an equivalent spec CAAD8 for £675

Anyone have experience with Cannondales? I read a review of a a CAAD8 105 and it was very favourable scoring an overall mark of 91%.

cannondale have a good reputation for making excellent aluminium road frames and they are probably one of the few big brand companies to still be investing heavily in aluminium R&D as evidenced by the CAAD10, they have recognised that a good alu bike still has a place in the market obsessed with carbon.

if you think about a bike review, the reliability and functionality of the groupset is the same regardless of the brand so weighting should be leaning heavily towards the frame, fork and geometry. it doesnt always work like this but the highest scoring bikes in a test are usually those with the right characteristics regarding stiffness, response and comfort.

And rightly so - it's because it's the best bike at the price. If I was in a similar situation it would certainly be my choice.
