What Bike?

Buying a new road bike - choice has come down to a Trek 1.5 or specialized Allez elite. Both around same price - any hints or thoughts about where my money should go would be appreciated.

Whichever fits, and whichever is available: you're currently caught between the end of 2011 stock, and the yet-to-arrive 2012 stock, so it's going to be difficult.
I'd be tempted to wait for the 2012 Treks and give them a look: they're currently banging on about cutting prices next year yet retaining the same spec!

True, although IME the bargains are the end-of-year stock in odd (i.e. the smallest/largest) sizes...

the trek is a 2012 and the one i like most i think ! i,m from a mtb background and this is my first road bike not really looking outside those two unless someone tells me different

I found Trek and Specialized to have VERY different fits. I liked the Trek, and hated the Specialized, so bought the Trek. My brother-in-law just bought a Specialized, and it fits him very well.

Try, then buy. Make sure you buy from who you try, otherwise we will eventually be left with 2 online retailers, and no-where to go when the missus is shoe shopping.
