cannondale sl5 vs kona nunu... what would you have?

Just had my cannondale F6 nicked, insurance company are offering a kona nunu but i figured the replacement cannondale might be better (SL5)

specs look similar mostly Shimano Alivio gear but different forks etc.

not sure i could cope with ridding a bike called a nunu!

can't really find any comparison articles so what are your thoughts folks?

Nunu has better forks - go for that.

I've got a 2010 Cannondale SL4 and it's a great bike, I have upgraded the forks from RST Omega to Rockshox Reba though. I dont know much about the Kona though.

I was looking at the kona nunu for a new bike, but I got the kona blast instead, not wanting a bike named after the vacuum on he teletubbies. I don't know how good the nunu is, but the blast is a good bike and has a better fork and nicer colours IMO, although it is about £100 more.

Specs alongside (if you can read them this small) anything an issue other than query over forks possibly better on kona?

Better drive train components and brakes on the Kona. I feel the Cannondale is a good frame with the components picked to get it under a certain price whilst the Kona is a slightly more rounded package.

seems like the kona is the winner then, riding a bike named after lady bits is a little odd tho, i'll have to get over that one !

He has got some really cool hardtails from "capachino" bikes to some hardcore racers. He has many demo bikes and is always happy to let you try.

the f**kers pinched it from bosc beach right under the eyes of about 50 of us at an event... even the council guys saw it & by the time they had realised what he was doing he was on it & off, bit gutted but it happens...

i'm a bit stuck really as the insurance company are determining what is 'like for like' and they choose the kona, i can take it up with them & try to push for a cannondale replacement but not sure on what model they will offer, my guess is the SL5 which actually looks a little lower spec than the kona... the only other option is i find a way to justify a better spec cannondale & see what they say! i would prefer to source the bike myself but it doesn't appear to be an option, otherwise i'd be straight down to see richie.

Oh well. I would argue that the geo is very important to your back and ask for the cash...

If not. I love the way cannondale handle, they feel like a big BMX and are fun and really good frames. BUT I have never met a kona owner that didnt love thier Kona (didnt get it myself).

I get the impression you are prom bashing so I wouldnt worry too much about the fine aspect of fork performance. I would prefer to look at quality of wheels and brakes.
