2 two pound coins fit perfectly in a park tools puncture patch kit. I use to keep a fiver in one but inevitably it got a bit mashed up and shopkeeepers werent keen on taken an oily, torn fiver. £4 is plenty enough for an emergency bottle of coke and a mars bar and the plastic case will easily fit in a saddle bag or jersey pocket.

just thought i would share that little gem...

I also found today, whilst looking for bar ends for my MTB, Halfords do some with a concealed multi tool kit. A road version would be welcome. As they're not used very often, it seems a good idea. Quality doesn't look up to much though, but would save room in the saddle pack.
When I did my end to end, I put a £50 note in my seat pin for emergencies. Bit of sponge kept it in place.

You'd need a pair, they'd want to be fairly light and weight matched, but it does sound like a good idea.

Maybe with flashing LEDs for night time too?
