When will the MY2012 bike be released?
Discussion
I've just had the paperwork through for our Ride2work scheme (through Evans) and so of course have spent all morning looking through the website.
I'll be looking for a new hardtail arounf the £600 mark, and there are quite a few to whittle down.
The BMC Blast BL01 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bmc/blast-bl01... blast has caught my eye, and has a decent discount built in to boot.
But I got to thinking, would I be better off waiting a little until the 2012 models come out to see what other offers are then available on 2011 models?

2012 bikes will be at the trade shows in september but some shops may may have ordered their stock based on spec sheets a while back so will take delivery soon.
2011 bikes will be discounted in a few weeks with discounts increasing as the year progresses.
the longer you wait, the better a discount you will generally get, obvious really, if you know you need an 18" then wait to see what comes up.
If you are fixated on a Specialised, you may miss a bargain from Merida or Scott.....
but with that all said, you should probably just go and buy a Merlin Malt 4 as you wont get better VFM at that price....

I'm not in any way brand biased, it was just that the BMC jumped out at me. The last bike I bought was my GT back in '93.
I'd not heard of the Merlin brand before and looking at the spec sheet it certainly is VFM, but the scheme we have is locked to Evans and they don't sell Merlin.
I'll spend this evening having a good cross examination of bikes in that bracket to see what others jump out at me.
