Thanks

The main two I use are www.bikeradar.com and www.singletrackworld.com

Probably prefer Singletrack to be honest.

Pinkbike.com is good if you are into freeride/downhill, but it's a bit American.

Singletrack's great if you've got thick skin!

It's entertaining even if your not into bikes rofl

Frankly I'm not a fan of any of them.

They're mostly full of kids who play endless games of one up manship. If someone writes about some ride or jump then the next one has done it faster or higher. I once saw a tread entitled "how big a drop can you safely hit on a hardtail" First reply is always some bike nerd who claims they can only say if they know the complete spec of the bike and rider weight, then OP duly does, the bike nerd never replies again, then it's 9 pages of kids claiming higher and higher drops they've done (usually higher than they claimed the page before) until some 14 year old is claiming Joss Bender in his heyday type stuff on his 300 Quid HT.

No trail is ever harder or more fun than their own 'hidden trail'.

There is also some strange idea that the level of bike you choose to buy should be justified by how good you claim to be, not what you want to spend on it.

The tech sections are ok as long as you can bare the nerds who want every single details of everything before offering advice, which is usually that what you're doing is wrong.

OK that's a overly negative version of events, but I think you're better off looking at the Park Tools site for tech tips, the mags for bike reviews and here for relaxed chat about bikes and stuff.

www.retrobike.com

It's aimed at those who like the older stuff, but pretty much all the members have modern stuff too, and are fully up to speed with the latest bikes/tools/trends etc.

There are quite a few current and ex bike mechanics so tech questions are always answered well.

My most visited site after PH. The guys on RB are the best, there is great banter, there are a lot of PH'ers on there as well. Plus who gives a st about some identikit modern bike anyway, they are the equivalent of a Samsung fridge.

I’ve recently got a 2005 orange crush and was wondering if anyone knew the specific parts such as the forks and drivetrain because I’m struggling to find specific details anywhere else. Thank you.

Singletrack world forum is refreshingly liberal compared to some of the gammon, brexiteer bow locks that populates the PH forum, there’s no cyclist haters on there either biglaugh

Think singletrack is still, even a decade on from this thread, one of the best.

Followed by Pistonheads of course...

I do miss the PHBB forums of old though, all the how-to's that must have been lost among the photobucket problem and lack of use or funding. Easy to post up on facebook and ask a question these days though isnt it. I guess the guides are now on youtube as well

Pretty sure stw is also using the same software from 10+ years ago for their forum as well.
The content is great if you are a road biking communist who enjoys being in an echo chamber.
Emtb forums is pretty decent if you have an ebike, that's about it though. Facebook has taken over really.

Pinkbikes the best. Alot of depth in riding skill and knowledge.

Singletrack used to be great probably 10+ yrs ago but then the fun vibe left. Singletrack is very northern England centric and the same posters.

Never tried bikeradar and mtbr is good but very North American centric?
