Decent bike shops in North West

Decent as in friendly, knowledgeable, plenty of stock (looking for a hybrid) that will be nice to a rookie looking for his first "proper" bike!

Royles in Wilmslow is very good for road and MTB, so I presume that they have plenty of hybrids too.

North West Mountain Bike Centre in Cheadle. Don't be put off by the name, they do all sorts.

Very patient, friendly and knowledgeable unlike a certain other bike shop in the area who's name is a play on the historic name of the town in which it is based.

Not really North West but only 30 mins from Chester. Dave Mellor cycles in Shrewsbury. If you call and speak to Dave, mention Steve from the Telly shop!

Just to update.

Found a great indie cycle shop in Warrington. They are a small company and do have 2 other stores but are very much a LBS.

The one near me in Warrington is next to The Halliwell Jones stadium. popped in today to look at Hybrids. They mainly stock Scott/trek and Cannondale but have loads of bikes in. Spoke to a really helpful guy. All the techies are properly qualified too unlike alot of bigger chain shops.

They also do 0% Finance too on the more expensive bikes which wasn't a requirent for me but is a no brainer!

Definatley reccomended.

Just beware with NWMTB Centre that sometimes they manage to take absolute aaaaages to order parts in.

Other than that they're great!

There's also a few Evan's Cycles now dotted around Manchester and Freeride Cycles in Disley.
