cycling gloves

Hi all,
I think its time for me to get some gloves for the commute and general outings.
I don't want anything too expensive (wont be used for off roading really)
What do you guys use?

fingerless, gel padded, comfy and cheap. And not Gore, because I have had 3 pairs of Gore gloves, which are supposed to be really good and they all fell apart very quickly.

lucky I was just looked at Gore ones on wiggle. Will carry on the search!

yes and yes. I've suffered from sore hands (the line that runs down from your thumb, if that makes sense?) for a couple of months. My bike shop said try gel padded ones, higher quality than the crap dunlop ones I had. Huge difference.

I have winter ones from Aldi and fingerless ones from Lidl and neither has failed me yet! Could be worth a look if you are not after anything fancy.

Specialiazed BG gloves, lasted 5 years but now need replacing, have padded ulnar nerve support, work very well and have worn amazingly well over thousands of miles.

Not sure what to replace with yet as Castelli etc., make some really nice one's and Spec BG look a bit ordinary

I have these - they last forever as mentioned.
Dry fast, comfy and have survived several tarmac interactions pretty much unscathed.

I didn't have particularly sore hands, but after putting on some bar ends figured I should get some fingerless gloves .... and picked up some of the Dunlop gel ones from our local sports direct.

Only had them for a month, but they're damn comfortable.

urm i seem to keep contradicting people on here but i've got 400 miles on my Gore Road gloves.... yes they are the top rangers but at £40 they are all i ever need and considering its 1 of 3 touch points on your bike i cant see why people scrimp on them?

I have the Specialized GB long finger gloves. Had them about a year now and they look as fresh as new, even though they've been tested in SPD-release-failures.

4000+ miles on mine, still going strong. The leather gets stiff when it dries out but it soon breaks in again.

400 miles is nothing! For £40 I would want a hell of a lot more than that and I hope you get it! I would rather spend less and throw away after 2000 miles than spend more and throw away after 1000 miles.
