Hi, not been road cycling long, only had a road bike 2 months... anyway, finally bought some proper road cleats and shoes after using spd's for first few weeks.
I've had the expected couple of weeks adjusting cleat angles and getting them right but the upper outer (distal lateral) sides of my foot are getting sore after rides. Sort of around the little toe and a few inches down that side. It feels like i'm putting too much pressure on it.

Are there any kind of shims/washers/wedges people use on cleats to alter foot angle?

Btw... I'm a relatively fit and healthy 21yr, and doing 120+ miles a week. mix of 25-40 mile rides.

Any advice appreciated.

Cheers

Yup biggrin You can alter the angle of foot strike and compensate for varying leg lengths.

lots of angled shims are available for both the cleats and for your insole's too.

By the sounds of it - you will need to shim out (build up) the OPPOSITE side to where your pain is coming from which will allow a more even spread of the weight of your lardy arse on your feet and hopefully that will stop the pain.

Specialized to a range of insole's and shims - they even do a foot pressure test or something in their shops for free!!!
