How does it differ from the steel version...it does look good.
Initial impressions are that it's very similar to steel in that you get more compliance than you would with aluminium or carbon but the lower weight just makes for a much easier and more agile thing to ride. Didn't get to properly test it but part of the loop we did ended in a fast and rocky downhill section and I didn't miss being on a fully at all.Still can't believe I only had to give £500 for it, it's a beautifully made thing with some really nice details like the engraved headtube badge and yoke.

Took my bike to work and rode home after a night shift on Saturday morning. Was glorious. Absolutely the best time of the day to ride. Barely anyone around for the first half hour. Left work just after 0630, home about 0750. 20 miles done before most out of bed. Rode back in that evening via Southampton making 36 miles that day.

Treated the bike to some new bar tape for it's first birthday. Having never wrapped bar tape I found it a baptism of fire. Not massively happy with the top but it'll do. Shiny too.

That's the thing with saddles. There is often very little relation between price and comfort/suitability. It's such a personal thing. I have been using Charge Spoons for a good 15 years I think because they're extremely comfortable for me to the point where I quickly dropped padded shorts and zero discomfort irrespective of distance.
They're £20 and regularly on offer at £15.

I'm with you on the Charge Spoons, the problem with other saddles is that the best way to know if it will work for you is a long ride on one, so it is hard to buy reliably, hence I just stick to what I know works.
I went through a process of buying and selling used saddles on eBay until I found one I got on with. Some saddles I made a loss, some a profit, but essentially broke even by the time I settled on my current Fizik Antares. I'd never buy a new saddle without knowing it's a keeper, specially not a high end saddle. bobbo89 said:

Been there before, finished a long, hot and sweaty ride at the local, pint of lager taken outside then sheepishly walked back inside for another about 3 minutes later. I get a pint of tap water to rehydrate with first now.
Bottled water only……
