The "Photos From Today's Ride" thread. (Vol. 2)
Discussion
To balance out the recent hatred for cyclists that seems to be all over the media, I had 2 thumbs up, a wave and a little "thank you" toot today, all from just being aware of traffic around me and moderating my speed slightly each time so that there was room for us all to use the various single lane roads. Tho I did stop and get right out of the way for the tractor with the big spikey stuff on the back!
Oh, and 3 10-12 year old lads sat on the kerb, cheering me up the last bit of a short sharp climb

Another ride up to my son's cycle speedway training, so a rare ride when I have my "big camera" with me.

Pushed for time this morning, so did a short loop taking in our three closest volcanic cones. Maungawhau, Maungakiekie and Owairaka (Mount Eden, One Tree Hill and Mount Albert).

How are you getting on with your Strael?I use mine mainly as a winter bike, but do still use it in the summer months as it's such a nice ride.

Absolutely love it and haven’t ridden any of my other bikes since it arrived.I use mine mainly as a winter bike, but do still use it in the summer months as it's such a nice ride.
Compared to my Exploro it’s wonderfully smooth and only a teeny bit heavier. Handling is a touch edgier though, but that’s not a bad thing.
Not completely convinced by the 12-speed 105 mechanical group, but that’s mostly down to the level ergos and braking, neither of which are as good as the Force 1x I had before.
Bonus is that my average ride speeds are up by ~0.75 to 1km/h (over 50km), but that could just be new bike enthusiasm.

Nice ride out yesterday, on my own as everyone else was busy. First 80% was on cycle paths then over the M1 and off the beaten track a bit, through some woods and across a farm. It's surprising how far you can get without needing to use too many fast roads. 22 miles covered in total.
