The "what bike bits have you just bought" thread Vol 2
Discussion
After embedding my CX-1 into a Toyota at 42 mph last Sunday I think I might have just put a deposit on this (need to 'address' the white saddle);
Annoying thing is, until my ribs, pelvis and jaw stop throbbing, and my internal organs return to their normal place and size I won't be riding it..........but, I might hang it on the wall in the front room and stare at it for a bit............
Watch this place for new shoes, helmet, jersey, bib's, computer, glasses, multi-tool, lights, kidneys and spleen..........

Wow! That's worth getting better for.Colnagulations!
ETA: Forgot to balance the cheese by adding the bit about bike bits bought recently. I've been going nuts with bit buying recently mostly for my ongoing allez refurb project. On Saturday, as well as picking up the wheel I'd had the LBS rebuild after it put the kibosh on the hill smash ride I picked up my pedals, front mech band and some threaded rod, washers etc. to make a headset press. This morning's ordering haul is a chainreaction trio of:
Park derailleur hanger alignment tool
Park pedal wrench
Selle Italia qbik flow saddle
I also have to swing by the Spitalfields branch of Evans to pick up a chain for my grotty commuter. I keep telling myself I've saved enough by commuting on the bike to justify all of this, and the tools will save me in the long run keeping bikes going for me and my 3 sons.

Can you let us know how it fits and your size? Biggest issue with bike wear over web is that one brands large can be another's xxxl.
I'm 5'10 with a 42-44 chest but that usually means nothing on the size guides
Will do.I'm 5'10 with a 42-44 chest but that usually means nothing on the size guides
If it's too big, I've sorted my Dad's Christmas present. If it's too small, I've sorted my brother's Christmas present. If it's just right, I've got some explaining to do to the wife.

CoolC Tools hanger alignment tool
I did ponder doing it homemade for a while, I built an MDF wheel building stand, use a ruler to measure chain wear and the other day got the bits for a headset(/anything else) press... but having trashed a sram red rear mech recently I decided to go to town on this bit, even shunning the non-park items I'd normally look at.I can't really blame the loss of the mech on my hanger, or the lack of an alignment tool, but the plingy noise of cage on spoke makes me nervous. The limit screw on my new mech isn't long enough to prevent the noise so something's out of whack.
Improvising with other tools isn't getting me anywhere un-seizing my pedal/crank hence the pedal wrench.
Bit of a daft price but just received some 4Shaw Hellbent gloves from Aus. Nice quality.

I'm back on TR after a summer riding the local lanes....
It's a "different" kind of riding. but beneficial in terms of developing your fitness.
I have also recently invested in a fan (reduced end of season stock at Tesco) to improve cooling in the garage.
I've done a couple of turbo sessions on my Dad's turbo and done spin classes etc. but not had the app to guide me through the session before so looking forward to getting stuck in. Target for next year is a century in under 6 hours. It's a "different" kind of riding. but beneficial in terms of developing your fitness.

It's my birthday today so my wife got me a wahoo speed/cadence sensor so I can connect to my Ipad. Big gym fan on order from amazon, just need to get a trainer tyre sorted.

Why?Actually because the driver turned right in front of me without looking in his mirror, following pulling out in front of me from a side turning without looking right.........
