We are due to be travelling to South Africa in a few weeks time to do the touristy trip along the Garden Route, starting with a few days in Cape Town and finishing with a safari.
I see that the power supply problems have become more severe and widespread in recent weeks. Are the load-shedding power cuts having a significant effect on daily life, or do most hotels and businesses have their own back up generator's?
I assume we'll have to make some allowance for the blackouts during our trip, but it would be good to know what to expect.
