I've never been to FOS and am considering going this year. They say that the Friday fan day is a good day to go. If you can only do the one day, which day would you choose?

There's another thread on the which day's best just below this one. If I was going for just one day I'd go for the Sunday. It's the day with the most top name drivers in the cars and it has the best atmosphere IMO. But on the OPs' original point i'd love to see the Delta S4 back on the historic rally stage and the Chaparall chevrolet 2J Sucker car on the hill again. There's always room for any of the turbo era F1 cars and I'd like to see the F1 engined renault espace make a comeback.

Original Mercedes 722 would be nice.
As would the BRM v16 running well.

I'd love it if they went back to inviting the previous years British Hillclimb champion to run at FoS again. I remember Greame Wight Jr running a few years back (must be 4 at least), and the cars are a fair bit quicker now too. I guess the organisers are too risk averse to have cars actually trying for a "real" time.

Friday is the quietest day (though not by much). But sunday is the day they usually have all the big names driving (and the best day to see the F1 cars).
But any day it is still a great event!

I'm not sure if its true or not but I've heard that Audi will be the featured manufacturer and doing the display outside the house this year.

So lots of quattros I'm guessing. Maybe they'll be brave and send the mid engined quattro rally car they have salted away from the 80s

I would also guess that it will be better than last year as there is no Historic Le Mans so all the serious collectors will be there to show off their toys.

Alain Prost at the FOS - I know he nearly made it a couple of years ago. In an MP4/4 would be sweet.

I was lucky enough to have a tour of the McLaren factory today and saw them starting to prepare one of the cars Lewis is going to be demonstrating at FoS this year.. The coolist thing about it was that the chap preparing it was '...del' from Rondel racing, Ron Denis' first race team..

Cheers,
J

I don't care what nice cars are there, so long as the weather is good!

Why is my car the only Goodwood I ever see at Goodwood though?
