just for arguments sake (and to kill the 16 days of excitement left) what do you prefer and why?

Difficult question as both has it's merits and unique feel. I prefer the racing on the circuit at the revival, but I enjoy the overall day at the FOS....I don't spend an awful lot of time watching the time trials on the hillclimb. I like the combination of new, old, unique, trade stands, sellers at the FOS, which you don't get to the same extent at the revival. As a GRRC member, the forward parking at the revival is worth something, but not at the FOS - you still have to walk a mile to get to the entrance!

The revival is unique and great fun, but in the past few years I have come to prefer the FOS.

Cfuk, cfuk, cfuk, just been told I've got to do a job abroad over FOS weekend. Not sure if I feel more disappointed or cross. furious
If they cancel the Revival weekend for me as well........

The Revival is a better weekend by far,the FOS is just a commercialised car show

Too many inappropriate shorts worn at the FOS for my liking (when I was a kid we all wanted to get out of shorts! Some blokes i.e. most over 30s don't have the legs for them. And what is it with 'secret socks!)
Revival is definitely my fave, wouldn't miss it for the world. The Toyota girls are always worth a glance at FOS thoughcloud9

I would say the revival, although (IMHO) when it started it was an excellent race meeting supported by people who liked classic racing - the idea of keeping modern cars and support wagons out, period dress etc is wonderful - but it has become an excellent race meeting that is on the list of places to be seen, like Henley, Ascot etc, with lots of corporate hospitality tents; oh and car enthusiasts can go as well.

Despite that thought, I do still think it is a bloody brilliant do and wouldn't miss it - managed to get there for 2 days this year; look out for the Sandblast Special parked amongst the shiny stuff in the pre 66 car park on Sunday if they let me in!

If you have a pre 66 vehicle you get to park right outside the gate. biglaughbiglaughbiglaugh , although it's an expensive way of saving a 10 minute walk!

I agree Goodwood is the place to be seen, I was at Goodwood, last week for the testing days and the hospitality tents seem to be getting bigger every year,£450.00 for a hopitality ticket ?
