Hi all,

I am off to the revival this year and am always up for fancy dress/dressing the part so thought I would check in here to get your photos/ideas for outfits.

I have my great Aunt's original WW2 nurses outfit which I am planning to wear, but I just wanted to check to make sure I won't look a complete tool!! Will this fit in? I'd rather go glam but hey, this is a free outfit and it means I can wear comfy shoes to walk around in!

Mr Pitstop has an RAF uniform - so what will you be dressed up in?

Nurses outfit? You'll get a fine welcome in our paddock. Just send Mr Pitstop off to look at the pretty Spitfires first.

Seriously, both will be fine. Just go for a broadly authentic look rather than any wacky fancy dress look, and you'll fit in fine - the aim is to fit in, not stand out. I'll probably be in my usual "Alfred Neubauer" attire (tweed jacket, hat, stopwatch & big round belly), unless I'm downgraded to mechanic's whites.

My girlfriend has been doing some serious research into this and is loving it! She couldn't give two hoots about the cars but is so exited about the outfits.

With regards your nurses outfit I honestly think it will fit right in. Its effort people go to to dress in period dress that really makes this event unique.

Best period dress for the girls IMO is 50's / 60's, and more in keeping with the heyday of Goodwood racing. The dresses then were SO feminine. Uniforms can get very hot and itchy if the weather is warm.

Example from Revival:
