Where or what is the best place for a crack, to get the atmosphere, for Fos ?

Plan on doing Fri/sat this year and want to get booked up.

Camping on site ?

Good "ph" type b&b ?

Your recommendations required please chaps.

Looked into the FoS official camping last year and it was about £120 for 3 nights. Thanks to the weather, it didn't look like much fun when I got there in Friday either.

The local B.B. know what they are doing, they put the price up. No one on here will advise for fear of not getting to stay at thier usual place, because reasonably priced accomodation is hard to find at fos time. I think goodwood maybe block book local lodges etc for the drivers and families. Thats my theory anyway.
Starting to ramble now....whistle

They do.

Try the new lodge type hotel at Fontwell. Its not been open long, this could be their first FOS, so you may have a chance of getting in. It's just a short drive (10 mins) from Goodwood.

Good luck!

We stayed at the Hilton which wasn't cheap but the Renault F1 team was there, fun having breaky with them. Just outside of Portsmouth.

We also stayed at a campsite just north of Goodwood about 20 mins drive, I suspect this is the only way you can do Goodwood on the cheap.

Hey Craig, how much was the campsite?

It might pay to try looking in the area around Bognor Regis.

There's lots of B&B type accomodation, its only 15 mins from Goodwood and you'll be travelling against most of the traffic. At least until you get to the A27!

Hmm, tempted to offer 'indoor camping' in my living room if anyone's interested?

20mins away, know a lovely route to avoid traffic, and 50yds from the sea, so maybe campfire/barbeque on the beach in the evening.

Not looking to cash in, few beer tokens and a good laugh would be enough.

Would have to vet those who wanted it, as my elderly Grandad lives with me and don't fancy my house getting trashed.

Mail me through my profile if interested.

The Spur at Slindon, which is a P.H. which has a restaurant & serves bar food and good draught beers.

Does B&B and alway's a good cooked breakfast.

It's on the A29 between Bury Hill and Fontwell on the L/H side.

Clive is the landlord and is alway's a sarcastic but good bloke.
