Does anyone have any news about the condition of Mr Stretton who crashed very heavily at the end of the start/finish straight?
The car was totally destroyed and the front of the car was pushed up in to the air. My thoughts are with him and his family.

I would also like to hear some good news about his condition, happened just in front of us, he went in very hard and the rescue crews seemed to be taking a very long time to free him from the wreck, fingers crossed.

I have some pictures but don't know how to post them.

I was standing at Madgewick as well - was surprised that they took so long to red flag the race as it was a really nasty crash - I do hope he is ok although he did seem to be moving in the car before they cut him free if thats anything positive.

Such bad news.

Two 'offs' that we saw on Saturday, but drivers both ok. Dramatic, but no obvious major damage done.

Thoughts with the family.

My friend was racing in this today and I asked him what he knew, looks like he has a broken arm and leg. Bad injury but should be full recovery.

He's a lucky fellah if that's correct. I was right in front of the point he thumped into the wall. Looked nasty and they took a long time cutting him out of the car. I was worried he might have had serious neck injuries. Hope he recovers soon...

I was going to post on this topic, my Goodwood guests just left. We were quite shocked by it, it looked very nasty indeed. If a broken arm and a leg is all he's been pretty lucky, that did NOT look good. I really hope he's OK, put a bit of a downer on the afternoon.

PS. Top racing up to that point though, how cool was the St. Mary's Trophy?

I didnt see the crash but heard it on the radio in the carpark while resting, I do hope hes ok, very shocked to hear about it, I wondered what all the noise was for.
Even more shocked as I saw all the drivers before they went out on track. get well soon smile

Apparently the odd broken bone but generally all OK with no lasting damage - I also saw the shunt and it was a proper one!

Very glad to hear it's not too serious.
We'd just left the corner as it happened and could see the doctors working behind the screen from the runway and feared the worst.

Get well soon Martin.

It is good to know that he's not seriously injured. Seeing the damage to the car, he is a very lucky man to not have been killed. Its a real shame to see a car like that destroyed too.

Good to hear it's apparently not too bad, although I'd bet he disagrees! To those who saw the shunt, what happened? Did he simply do straight on? That's what it looked like he must have done.

There's some pictures posted at http://www.pbase.com/steephill/revival2007 -big smash. They took the roof off to get him out, which is presumably why it took so long. I'm glad to hear that his injuries are recoverable.

I worried when I heard on the local radio that a 'rider' had been hurt in the TT race. Glad to hear that injuries to Mighty mouse were limited to a broken elbow.

BTW there seems to be no sign of a full cage in the car. Would that not have helped the passenger compartment retain it's shape better in a head on?

Great pictures - and obviously distressing to see those shots of the crash. I hope he's making a good recovery.

Just seen this on Historicracing.com

"We are pleased to say that after Martin's accident in the ISO Bizzarini A3C during the TT race at the Goodwood Revival meeting on Sunday 2nd September, he has been released from hospital and is on his way home. He has sustained a broken elbow and severe bruising."

Great news

Thanks for posting that update - much appreciated.

Seeing a sprited driver injured is quite upsetting to all enthusiasts - now we can worry about the Bizzarini! What a shame that was too, look truely knacked.

I have just spoken to Martin and despite the crash, he is in good spirit. He is at home awaiting further tests on his arm.

I have a mechanic friend who will be helping restore the Bizzarini. He stated that Martin hit the wall nearing three figures.

I didn't see the crash, but I'm told today that it rests mainly on it's chassis and will take them quite some time to fix. Total rebuild and a lighter bank balance.

Good luck with rebuilding the car, cant be much to salvage from it...
Never seen an iso before, best looking car in that fleet. A real shame.
