it was amazing seeing Dean overtake the ferrari not once but twice in the actual chicane.. didnt see anyone else attempt that!

Davyde, saw your G4 in the pre-66 car park, looked very nice. I parked mine in the regular car park, i'll know to apply for pre66 parking next time

Apparently (allegedly!) the Ferrari 275GTB/C driver in question, accused Deanie of 'aggressive' driving!

to which Dean replied
'I thought this was supposed to be a race?' laughlaugh

Yes and no, if rumours are true, some ex-stock racer guy got his first place taken away for being overly aggressive. However, he was allegedly forcing people off the track aggressive.

It is supposed to be a race, but not aggressive due to the value/history of most of the cars and the nature of the event. They have been preserved all these years, it doesn't need someone getting a bit too excited and causing an accident for the sake of a position.

If he was overtaking in the chicane, then the Ferrari driver just may well have a point wink

The winning Marcos of the Fordwater Trophy was indeed excluded for inappropriate driving standards.

biggrin Oh yes of course, I just meant adjust the colour of the snaps I like best! I did this one in B&W but sometimes it's good just to fade the colour a bit to make the picture look old. smile Rich...

Rightly so, I don't know if you saw this race but he basically barged his way past the lead Griffith with no consideration as to the width of the track nor indeed any worry about touching bodywork. At the time I thoguht it was raqther robust, later over dinner when Doug Nye said he'd been disqualified I thought, that's fair. Rich...

Nah.
Sour grapes on the Ferrari driver's part.

Deanie wasn't aggressive at all, just competent ex-Le Mans winner driving and face it, Dean was in rarer car than the Ferrari being the ex Graham Hill test G4 cool - here's the evidence of Deanie's G4 up his b*m in first vid, and longer vid of the 4 taking Ferrari on the corner (nice shot of the Lancaster/Spit/Hurricane going overhead too!).
