Tickets for the Goodwood Revival are still available

22/8/2007

Tickets for the Goodwood Revival - taking place on 31 August – 2 September - are still available. If you haven’t booked your tickets yet, then check out the news below and see what a fabulous weekend is in store for you and your family!

Something for everyone from classic racing to superb air displays, shopping for the girls (and for the boys!) in the Revival Market, and plenty of fun in store for the children.

Pit Lane Pin-Ups to set pulses racing - a dozen glamorous girls line up on the starting grid. The 12 ‘grid girls’ will be dressed in colourful Swinging Sixties PVC outfits, all the rage in Carnaby Street at the time.

The ever-popular Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy motorcycle race is always one of the most exciting competitive events at the Goodwood Revival with Wayne Gardner, Michael Rutter, Jeremy McWilliams, John McGuinness and Niall McKenzie to name a few!

The Revival Market, situated within the Chicane Paddock area, will feature a spectacular variety of high-quality items for all the family. There will be focused shopping areas, not only for automotive products – automobilia, memorabilia, literature and accessories – but also a host of vintage clothing specialists - the girls will love it!

The racing again is second-to-none with the ever-popular Sir Stirling Moss, Derek Bell, Rowan Atkinson, Nick Mason, Jacky Ickx, Hurley Haywood, Tony Jardine, Andy Rouse and Roy Salvadori just some of the fantastic drivers taking part over the weekend.

Bonhams’ late summer sale will once again be staged on Friday evening. There will be a superb selection of cars on show all weekend and it is hoped that another record-breaking sale can be achieved once again. Entry by catalogue (www.bonhams.com.).

Live music from the Forties, Fifties and Sixties has become part and parcel of the Revival experience. This year is no exception, with a carousel of authentic live acts appearing on two Bandstands, whilst other musicians stroll the circuit giving cameo performances.

The stunning Revival Car Show, features over 1,000 pre-1966 cars driven to the event by spectators and guests. The show is a major part of the Revival weekend, displaying a sensational selection of extraordinary cars from familiar pre-War Austin 7s and Blower Bentleys, to post-War family saloons, ranging from Morris Minors to Rolls- Royce Phantoms, and all points in between, nostalgic memories come flooding back wherever you look.

Elegant and smartly-dressed ladies visiting this year’s Goodwood Revival on Saturday 1 September stand a good chance of taking home flowers and bottles of champagne – traditionally the reserve of victorious racing drivers – as Goodwood introduces motor sport’s first, and only, Ladies Day. Throughout the day a leading team of fashion gurus will be looking out for the most immaculately-groomed ladies in the crowds, and awarding spot prizes of finest Veuve Clicquot champagne and flowers to the lucky few.

The inaugural ‘Freddie March Spirit of Aviation’ will be held as a prestigious ‘concours d’elegance’ for historic aircraft built up to 1966, the same cut-off year as all motor vehicles permitted on site during the hugely popular three-day Revival meeting. The aim of the Freddie March Spirit of Aviation is to bring together around 30 of the world’s finest, most elegant, original and rarely-seen aeroplanes from the evocative pioneering days of aviation, to create an added spectacle at the Revival that all race-goers will be able to get up close to and enjoy.

Entry to the Goodwood Revival is strictly by advance ticket only.
