Like many I was a bit challenged by the weather conditions on foot and in the car parks this weekend - here's my car when I returned to it

But did it ruin the FOS for me?

Not at all.

Next years theme could be Sunburn.....what sunburn?

Completely agree - I have come down with a bad cold after Le Mans and all that mud on Sunday really didn't help my state of mind. But we parked up at the top of the hill and had no problems getting in or out (some people were on hard standing).
Saturday was a bit more fun as there seemed to be an unlimited number of arseholes that just tore up the grass and mud for everybody else.

We got a lot of looks on the way back as it appeared we were in a rally spec Elise from the mud everybody threw at us.

All the same, I like the ring of "Sunburn........what sunbrun?" for next year instead wink

Abso-ruddy-lutely! I was there for all three days and enjoyed each and every minute of it.

Yeah so it was a tad on the muddy side but so what, it menat that I got to see the Napier Railton struggling for grip up the hill with the driver wrestling with the wheel, F1 cars with rooster tails of spray and much much more. So what if my shoes got muddy, roll on next year!!

What is it with the Brits and there incessant moaning!?! hehe

plus I did have the benefit of being able to shelter in the GRRC members enclosurewink

Thought the food was good in the GRRC tent this year.

It was very good actually yeah, we set ourselves up with a fru up first thing when we arrived each day along with a couple of very nice coffees which kept the chill of the rain off!

It may not be the cheapest place to eat but I look at it that it is only once a year (or twice if you count the Revival) and the weekends entertainment is so great that I don't begrudge paying the extra.

I'm tempted with the Kinrara enclosure for next year but we shall see, have you or anybody you know used this?

I enjoyed it - and was pleased I took the Range Rover rather than anything more low slung.

The GRRC parking was a benefit, the GRRC tent was OK but (and I'm only saying rather than complaining) that there might have been more for GRRC members. Perhaps there was and I missed it.

I don't think you did miss it. The tent was good, the lockers were very handy, and the food pricing was commeasurate with the stalls/vans outside. Plus the girl on reception was very pretty cloud9

It might have been nice to have a trackside enclosure that we don't have to pay extra for, though...

edit: PS I was absolutely fine in the Lotus on Friday.

Agree totally with Tom, iirc the Kinrara enclosure is about £200 per day, it would be intersting to hear from any GRRC members that have used it?

Another GRRC member here.

I thought the drink prices (tea, coffee, beer) were all very good, I did not eat in there so can't comment on the food prices. However for the amount GRRC members pay I'd like to see a GRRC only area with track viewing also whats with the tiny CRT televisions in the tent how about some big LCD's?

The forward parking is nice but there is no forward exit for GRRC members which actually makes the forward parking a hinderance when everyone leaves.

Some very good points there mat, I agree whole heartedly on your points -

- GRRC parking is great but, and it's a big but, it makes it a whole lot worse to get back out again.

- No viewing enclosure for members which I think is odd. Kinrara I'm sure is very good but yet to try it.

- Silly small tv's in the GRRC area.

Car park 4 seemed to have this covered for GRRC members.

I was a complete numbnuts on Saturday morning and drove around trying to find a GRRC carpark - there was none. So I stopped, seemingly miles from the event, at carpark 4 and asked the guy on the gate. He told me GRRC can park anywhere - so I dived in. 4 had a separate lane for the GRRC and the same on exit too - joining the main drag at the bottom of the hill.

I just got lucky I guess, but was out pretty quickly.
