With the weather being VARIABLE, whats the state of the car park after day 2?

Should I take the Griff or the Scooby?

I was in this car park yesterday, right at the bottom of the hill which is a lot steeper than it looks

Got out easily but it didn't rain (well not on that bit of Goodwood) if it had no way would I have got out without a tow. I assume they have a plan if it rains - there were a lot of Toyota 4x4s about!

I remember chaos a couple of years ago when there was a massive thunderstorm around 4pm. Thousands must have decided to leave at the same time as it took over and hour and a half to get out of the car park.......there were around 10 lines of cars heading for one exit. The field was extremely slippery and I remember our Alfa 156 moving as far sideways as forwards trying to get up the last steep bit by the gate eek

Yesterday was fine though smile

I'd take the 4X4.

I was there today (Saturday) and it was just starting to get slippy. I took my Range Rover and was glad I didn't go in the GT...

Take the 4x4. I saw an old Land Rover having to tow an enormous shiny Ferrari F1 team transporter up a slight incline yesterday; the F1 artic just couldn't get enough grip. Very amusing!

Looks like the Scooby. I'll put a rope in the back if I get a chance.

If anyone needs a tow look out for me ;-) !!!!!

I've never had a choice of carpark before how would I get to carpark 4? Bit concerned about my lowered Works Cooper S!
carpark 4 drive pass the race course (horse) drive pass gate 1 and 8 turning on your left, go pass gate 5 through the dark covered trees tunnel and see gate 4 on your left.

Erm, I believe you'll need a pass to get into Gate 4 on Sunday. I was very lucky and got one, but I'd say unless you're with one of the exhibitors you won't get in.

I live 20 minutes from Goodwood and having had rain all day I would suggest your picture is not far from the truth.

On the way out yesterday the car park was already starting to turn to mud, I think we'll have some stories later on laugh
