Has anyone seen the situation whereby airbnb nightly charges are seemingly " incorrect" as soon as you mention going to FoS? I have had this happen a couple of times now, each time the Host pleads squeamishness ( " website won't accept the correct price" " sorry I have not updated the prices" etc etc). They reject their request and ask you to resubmit again with " updated" costs per night. And yes I realise keeping schtum would be wise Travelling from NI

Never had the price change at time of booking, but have managed to book a property before the dates become too common knowledge and then had the host state the property is no longer available (looking to sell, move back in etc) and cancel the booking - only for it to reappear a few weeks later at a higher rate. (this was for Revival).

The new one (again for Revival) seems to be a min 4 night stay, my usual supplier (last 5 yrs) has now introduced this on their properties (some of which can be obtained via Airbnb or direct), I usually book 3 and go down Thursday night, but have no need for 4, but with the lack of good quality accommodation meeting the needs of a family of four, location etc its a host market.....

yes, it is a sellers market, I understand that. This happened to me in 2021 and just again today. But, I got sorted and at a location closer to FoS so its all ended well, just wonder what AirBnB would have to say about this practice

This has happened to us a few times for Members Meeting. I generally report it to AirBNB, who then prevent them from re-marketing for the same dates.

Annoyingly, on a few occasions they've cancelled too late for us to find an alternative.

We now book the same house every year, still through AirBnB, but with a reliable host and at the appropriate price.

I spoke to soon.....

So this year decided to go with a new accommodation option for both members meeting and revival (our old trusted choice was starting to get expensive and had a 4 night min stay), yesterday the host cancelled both!

Fortunately there still seems to be some availability for MM but Revival is limited and now very ££££, however saving grace may be that my old and trusted provider is looking to sort us out - but will cost me probably 30% more. Fingers crossed.....

I have no connection whatsoever and it may well be fully booked already but just spotted this b and b in my local village magazine which looks quite nice and is not far from Goodwood......

Whilst we stay in the same house in Chichester every year for MM, for Revival we book an electric pitch early and rent a motorhome.
The Mrs prefers to be on site for Revival, whereas MM is a boys trip and we'd rather be in town.
The motorhome Thursday > Monday is a reasonable (compared with AirBnB!) is about £500.
The near 600 mile round trip is a bit of a PITA but it's all part of the adventure!

I have a place booked on Airbnb about 15 minutes away from Goodwood for the FOS which was reasonably priced considering it was FOS weekend.

It was actually a bit of a find as it was hardly more than a generic house on Airbnb in a nothing area of Portsmouth. Been booked since August and has not been cancelled yet so hope they are genuine hosts. However as it gets closer I am getting nervous they will cancel then try and readvertise at an inflated rate to get someone desperate at the last minute.

In Portsmouth most people won’t realise it’s going on.
