Yup- what a contrast to last year when we had the relaxed dress code for members due to the heat. Decided to leave the Mk2 Jag at home and take something sensible for the first couple of days.
Heading down today for lunch at The Kennels and was hoping to see the Revival Cricket match but I very much doubt that will be going ahead!

Yes, I have seen the forecast too. Heading down to the probably non-existant cricket in the next couple of hours (I am 3-4 hours away). Dry in the Midlands at present.Mud mats in the boot ready for Friday!
Good grief what happened to the British summer?
Every time I've been to the revival it's been gloriously sunny and a fantastic trip.
Sadly this year is definitely looking like a washout. I live 30 miles from the circuit it's been raining all morning and it's forecast to do the same for the rest of today and then start again tomorrow morning as well.
I'm guessing the car parks will be a disaster so I will probably not bother pulling any vintage or classic cars out of my barn. It's a pity as the picnics in the pre 66 car park are usually one of the highlights for us.
We normally set off early to beat the queues but I think tomorrow I'll probably just have a leisurely breakfast and decide when to set off depending on the weather.
It must be very disappointing for all involved in organising the event and all of the stall holders that are hoping for commercial success. As well as those exhibiting cars and of course the teams that are racing as well.

I'm marshalling at the Petworth Historic pre-Revival meeting tonight and that's definitely still going ahead.

I've driven over from Ireland today in the horrible weather and have a ticket for tomorrow currently trying to decide what time to get there in the morning. I had planned to get there very early but with the forecast I'm not so sure.
If I arrive later am I just going to end up sitting in horrendous traffic for a very long time?

Just before 07:30 if you can, carpark certainly won't improve through the day.If I arrive later am I just going to end up sitting in horrendous traffic for a very long time?
ETA Gates open at 08:30 for non GRRC I believe.
Well according to the forecast I've seen it's likely to be raining all morning tomorrow.
Given the distance you've travelled and if you are staying somewhere local to the venue I think I would be tempted to get in there early. That way you should endure less queueing and encounter the car parking in a better state than it's likely to be in later in the day. Once you're in you can find somewhere nice and dry to settle down and enjoy a decent breakfast.
I'm planning to adopt the opposite strategy and have a leisurely breakfast at home before hopefully cruising in after the queues and arriving just before lunch.
We can compare notes tomorrow and see who had the worst day. I mean the best time

Thanks folks, going to head in early and see how I get on, worst case scenario I'll sit in the car for a while if the rain is very heavy, from what I've seen it's 50/50 for rain up until lunchtime and then drier in the afternoon.
If I get a chance in the morning I'll report back on how I found parking, getting in etc... might help others. Hopefully the weather surprises us all and is great tomorrow have fun rain or shine.
