1988 Jaguar XJR-9LM
Discussion
Thank you.
Thank you to Goodwood for putting on the event.
Thank you to Jaguar Daimler Heritage for bringing the 1988 XJR-9LM.
Most of all thank you to the 2 very nice chaps who were the custodians of said grail like object who chatted to me for ages about the car, how they maintain it, how original it is and the business of keeping it original as well as Colin Chapman conspiracy theories and some genuinely funny anecdotes.
Goodwood gets a lot of stick because it’s too crowded / expensive / corporate / not like it used to be but when something like this happens it’s magical and makes the early start, sore feet & empty wallet worth it.
A memory I will keep forever.
Thank you.

I'm a big fan of the XJR-9LM, but why can't they fit the original black Dymag wheels? it always looks wrong without them.Thank you to Goodwood for putting on the event.

I asked that, apparently you can’t get the Dunlop Denloc tyres, so they have used wheels that fit as closely as possible.Frankly why they can’t just paint those black is beyond me.
