FYI Contrary to what's been said on this forum you can't sell tickets on Twickets as they won't list them.

Probably because this is the Members Meeting, so, in theory, you have to be a member to buy them, where as you don't for the FOS and Revival general admission tickets.

I get that, but you can't get a refund and you're not supposed to resell, but the ticket office said you can sell to family and friends.

It’s another own goal by Goodwood, being able to resell the tickets on here ensures people attend, those people attending spend money on site ensuring caterers and stalls come back due to increased profit. By closing down here for the excuse of some fraudulent tickets yet have never seen anyone complain on here in the years people have been selling that they’ve received cancelled tickets is a poor excuse.

And now you’re left with people who can’t sell their tickets.

Goodwood have always said there will be non-members at the event, plenty of people (members) will buy them for friends and family, other tickets will be comps, and no doubt there are other ways that the tickets will end up with non members too.

People seem able to sell tickets via the Facebook GRRC group page. You have to be a GRRC member to join the group though

That might be true. But those non-members (me, for example - I'm just a fellow) ensured this event is still going. I was there for 72MM - where were the members then? Had it been strictly members only then, do you think there would have been a 73MM?

I don’t think that was a dig at non-members but a why are Goodwood not allowing resale of the tickets.

So what are you supposed to do if you have a spare ticket, just let it go to waste. Say for example my wife couldn't now make the Sunday, what am I expected to do with her ticket ?

Dear all,

As has been posted, tickets for the Members' Meeting cannot be resold on Twickets, as only GRRC members and fellows can buy tickets. If you have tickets that you no longer need, the best thing to do is to advertise them on the closed GRRC Facebook groups - once we sell out (which is imminent in the next day or so), there will be people looking to buy extra tickets.

Also just our usual reminder to please not support scammers or touts by buying Goodwood tickets on FB Marketplace, eBay etc. as every year, people arrive at our events with fake or cancelled tickets, purchased on these platforms, and there is nothing we can do. It's deeply frustrating and upsetting for all.

With best wishes,

Sarah

I assume anyone who doesn’t use Facebook can ask you to advertise it?

Dear all,

Members' Meeting tickets may only be purchased by GRRC members and Fellows, and if no longer needed, they can be listed by the purchaser on the closed GRRC Facebook groups. If you are a former GRRC member or fellow and cannot pass your tickets to family or friends, you can email me and I will list them on the closed Facebook pages for you. I cannot promise a sale though!

Best wishes,

Sarah

I think you’re being narrow minded here assuming that only former members don’t have access to Facebook. People do choose not to use it.

IMHO it is fundamentaly a bad business decision to effectively require/expect someone to use a third party platform. I for one will not use Facebook, X or similar.

Some may say, the reason that Goodwood doesn't want people to sell unwanted tickets is because Goodwood still has some of its own to sell.

This site has always been a selling to 'friends' even though in reality many may not have actually met in the flesh. Tickets were often sold at a loss when people's situations changed, not 'touting' or even selling on for a profit.

Its funny, every other ticket under the sun get resold all over the world! but when it comes to Goodwood heaven forbid you try to sell it on.

I have said this before, I bumped into someone I know at MM, said did not know you were a member, answer was my Mum got them given to her, can nor remember from where now though. so it just goes to show.

I won mine from Goodwood last year, didn’t need to be a member to win.
