Copied all the FOS footage over the weekend to watch later….sat down tonight and can’t believe how much “interview talk” is covered. I like Suzi and Karoon and think the event is fantastic but just how much talk do we need…speed and watching speed is what the festival is about…and not enough coverage for me..very disappointed and a bit bored . Am I just getting old or is this the new format that the fans want? Not me. I think next year I’ll travel from Scotland and watch live rather than be disappointed again.

The live feed on YouTube is best, the ITV shows are generally garbage.

Watched this on Sky yesterday and was very disappointed. I’m sure the coverage in previous years has been better than this?

With one day cancelled, there's significantly less footage of speed and they have to fill in the time somehow. Hence the waffle!

I’m not so sure, Thursday and Friday are now “full” days at FOS so plenty of potential for footage.

Yes, but they wouldn't have been recording on Thursday and Friday just on the off-chance that Saturday would be cancelled.

Taking onboard comments above…maybe not much runs up hill to vid but surely film of cars , tech info , specs , etc must be more interesting to us petrol heads rather than watching bods sitting on sofas or leaning against columns incessantly talking…I’m writing this in the (vane) hope some of the production team might read and get the idea what’s interesting.

Well why didn’t you watch the YT feed rather than the TV shows?

A hell of a lot of modern race footage is talk, as really there is a lot of time when the track is redundant.

Goodwood is not really an event more of a show, so really what ought to be done is instead of some sort of fake live thing, just a sort of highlights, with no presenters and then use the real comms team to commentate on the run off things.

But I expect somehow the right to film it are sold s so an expense has to be outlaid and this is what you get.

I dipped in and out of the YT live feed all weekend across the event. It too had endless hours (it seemed) of filler waffle, often by presenters that clearly had no idea what they were talking about or how to entertain the likely audience.

Watching cars going up the hill is not how most attendees spend the majority of their time. If you want to see wall to wall racing you need to go to a race meet or the Revival if older cars are your thing.

Wall to wall racing? Really? Seemingly endless safety car periods and the cancelling of races due to over-running the time limit is more like it.

I’m giving up on all these ‘lifestyle’ events now. I feel bad even thinking that, but until something changes, I’ll be finding something else to do with my time.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for something raw, noisy, exciting and not toooooo expensive. And preferably with a live commentator who knows when to STFU and let the engines do the talking.
