Beware the police are out in force this morning, saw someone pulled over on the A27/A3. Already really busy in that area too.

The current picture around Goodwood/Chichester;

I'm going tomorrow and haven't been for over 10 years. Are the "Road closures" shown on google maps a red herring? A lot of those roads seem to be the access points to the car parks. I assume its because they become one way roads into the car parks, rather than traditional through roads hence they are showing as closed?

Ideally I want to park in Car park S, but I am coming from Southampton way. Will I be able to go up the road with the blue arrow?

The yellow parking map seems to suggest that road is open?

The closures are real. They turn the roads into single direction to aid traffic. Follow the signs and ignore your satnav.

As a local, this weekend really does screw up the entire city and surrounding area. The roads are bad enough at the best ot times. Best go before/after rush hour

some aren't shut as such... they will be one way / no through traffic / double lane into the carpark ... the one coming from the racecourse direction for example... you won't be able to come from the south past the motor circuit and into carpark S for example...

Anybody know if I'm likely to be able to do this route to get to the motorcycle parking? It's through the claimed East Lavant road closure but I really don't want to go all the way around the site. Would settle for putting the bike in car park S if it's dry.

Was expecting it to be busier even first thing. Set of at 4.20am as I do every year (from Wiltshire, A303, A34, M27, A27), arrived earlier than usual due to a complete lack of traffic, so much so I was in a small group of cars doing a lap of the access road a few times as the signs/staff were not up for the car parks yet (about 6.05am). Followed an unmarked entrance and ended up going into Car Park A 'the wrong way' and parked up right next to the entrance with all the staff.

As an aside, is the 4 lane managed M27 ever 70mph?! At 5.30am this morning it was empty but still 60mph for the entire stretch.

M27 is still apparently going though testing and has never made it to 70mph yet.

Camera van in Petworth yesterday afternoon and again this morning. Hidden on left as you leave town towards Goodwood

Not sure that I can recall any 4-lane Smart motorway ever going above 60 mph.

Does anyone know if Selhurstpark road is opened between Kennel Hill and E Dead Hill and thus allowing you to chose whether to go into cark park M or S? Or they divert you into the one closer to where you come from (east for M, west for S)?

Don’t try and beat the system, just follow the signs. It will save you time, trust me, I tried one year and it was more hassle than it was worth.
