Just had the email too, been meaning to go with the wife for years but never made it.

Which day would people recommend for a couple of first timers? Any useful general info also appreciated.

The first days are usually quieter giving you more space to get round everything and explore. It’s a big event so walking boots I’d recommend.

I would say less overcrowded rather than quieter …

I'm having post commitment worries

I booked camping in campsite H but not sure if campsite E is a better bet as its closer to the event.

I don’t think there is a lot in it a walk into the event from either isn’t far.

If you can make all three days then do it, there is so much to see (especially when you are going for the first time) you don't want to be rushing around and potentially missing something, get there early each day and have breakfast whilst you wait for the gates to open, make sure you leave time to get round 'over the road' at some point (normally the Friday for us whilst the qualifying is on)

Sadly I already have a commitment that I can't break for next years dates so I know I'm not going (unless something drastic changes), I'll take a break and only go to 2 out of the 3 main events this year laugh

Just booked tickets and pleased to note that Woodcote has been added to the roving grandstand ticket access for Saturday and Sunday now

Does anyone know what is going on with camping pitches this year? A group of us have camped for the last 10 years, this year it is all sold out already, with a waiting list of 50 people. I have noticed that they have been increasing the glamping areas and I wonder if this is at the expense of conventional pitches.

Tickets are normally gone by April from memory?

In my Experience Campsite E is for anyone working at the event ie traders, serving staff etc. and competitors and from experience, very, very rowdy, especially as there is normally a lot of petrol generators running. Isn't E non electric?

H is much quieter and less rowdy...sure there are people having parties and enjoying themselves but generally I can't ever remember loads of noise after midnight.....even if it's us 10 making the noise!

Sure you can walk from H but I prefer to get the tractors especially if she whom must be obeyed is in heels and doesn't fancy getting covered in dust/mud/rain etc....

Just need the van to be back together. It has been found to be more more colander than mode of transport so its in the bodyshop having a refurbishment.

A few of us have booked for Sunday, for those that have been before is it worth booking the grandstand access? We will want to have a look around the whole event so don't intend to stay in one place all day however are the grandstands generally full i.e. you would need to get early and hold onto your seat to make it worthwhile?

I’ve been many times and never found the time, the next person will say they’re essential.

Fit and healthy and never been I’d say don’t bother.

Sunday is race day and busiest. So we’ve been doing grandstand at Woodcote for a few years. Good view of the corner and Chicane, plus a big screen in front to follow the whole race, especially RAC.

Lavant and St Mary’s are great on Sat, but being able to easily follow the race is worth it imo. Good crowd atmosphere too.

If you wear jeans, trainers and a Ferrari baseball cap you'll stand out like a knob. If you've got some chinos, leather shoes and a jacket you'll be fine. Some people take it very seriously indeed but that's not necessary, although I would say 95% make some sort of effort to the extent that the blokes in jeans and T-shirts look odd.
