Not seen any mention of this yet but commentators were saying at that point in that car easily beyond a 100mph crash.

Can it be repaired?

Another one S Group C Le Mans car hit the bales - it sounded like it might not be possible to repair as the body is bonded, in which case that lovely car is now possibly scrap frown.

The Nascar was a right old wreck towards the finish, it will take some sorting out, it was 120mph or thereabouts.

The XJR-12D was damaged at the rear, but if anyone can rebuild one then Don Law racing can, they're experts and have rebuilt many before.

It was certainly interesting to see the wrecks, and exactly where they happened. The big Dodge Charger went off in a bizarre position. At least I did get to see it looking fully evil during its successful runs.

Another XJ Jag hit the foot bridge protection, strange as that is nearly in a straight line

I last went to FOS in 2013, saw a NASCAR on track. Handling was abysmal , it had trouble getting round the first bend.
Great sound though!

It will be absolutelly fine. Its a (rather tough) tube frame chassis, with very simple sheet metal bodtywork draped over it. It looked a mess because the thin sheet bodywork was all ripped up, and it was a fairly hefty crash, but it was absolutely nothing compared to the pinballing 200mph multi-car yard sales that go on for 1/3rd of a mile on the ovals.

The XJR-15 hit the bridge. Those cars are renowned for being able to crash even being driven in a straight line. The engine tends to want to go in a straight line, when the car is being turned in, and in poor conditions, that doesn’t always end well.

Apparently the drive of the XJR-15 selected first gear when going for 3rd.

I wasn't at goodwood this year bit saw a fair few cars had some issues. Alot of the cars can be repaired as long as the chassis is still intact. Alot of the race cars have strong chassis because they are being abused for obvious reasons being raced.

Also saw a video online of the Ferrari F1 car start to catch fire looked like overheating when heading back to paddock. Was that this year?

Yes that was this year - we were delayed getting the cars off the hill and a bit overheated. lots more fans around for the next runs and not only the red cars.
