I think we normally do one of these. I won't hammer the thread with too many photos, but here a few and then a link to some more: https://www.flickr.com/photos/harry_s/albums/72157...

Feel free to add your own...

Nikon Z5, Nikon 24-200mm and Nikon 200-500mm 5.6. Most with the 24-200mm though.

I will throw a few in...there are loads of these, a testament to the skills of the riders rather than technical skills by me.

There's some impressive panning going on with those FLs, Chris

How do you find the z5 ? I have a D500 and D600 and really want to consolidate to a Z* but haven't found anyone with experience of the Z-series until now

Closer to a D600 than D500 in terms of speed, but for accuracy it laughs in the face of any of the DSLRs (as much as I loved my D750).

The Z system does need some native lenses at longer focal lengths though, the FTZ adaptor is good and brilliant for day to day shooting with Nikon DSLR lenses, but, for example, I had more confidence in the Z 24-200mm than I did with the 200-500, which shouldn't really be the case.

a few of mine - always learning need to step up with the panning - all single shots, little playing in iPhoto but nothing major

I guess you’ve done the ‘multiple exposure stops and layering’ trick, with some post production as well? Your shots do look fantastic though. Well done.

I'm not sure what that is, but no these are all single shots with no trickery other than basic tweaks in Lightroom...

Here is the original RAW image, converted to JPEG and exported with no adjustments made whatsoever. I shoot highlight weighted AND with a -0.7 exposure adjustment, so everything comes out fairly dark, but it means I'm never going to blow the highlights out and there will always be detail that can pulled out.

and this is the edited version, slight crop, colour correct and exposure adjustment:

Between 1/15 and 1/30 typically, I think all of the ones above are 1/30 (my hit rate is much better there!)

Great! Thanks for that, I had a go at a few panned shots but with mixed results! its certainly a technique I would like to practice more.

Cheers

Hi there,

No photography on the hill this year for me as concentrated on all the static exhibits as there was so much to see and I was only there for one day,

Two galleries on my site so far with another 4 to come I think, around 1500 photos all told.

Gallery One - Miscellaneous from around the event, mainly manufacturer and exhibitor stands

https://www.dunlopix.co.uk/Goodwood-Festival-of-Sp...

Gallery Two - Performance Car Parking and interesting spots from the public car park

https://www.dunlopix.co.uk/Goodwood-Festival-of-Sp...

Hope you like them
