What’s the likelihood of Goodwood going ahead? Do they fall under the same rulings as everywhere else?

As in no access to paddock etc? Will make it impossible to run, no?

See the FoS 2020 thread for discussion on this.

If the June 21st lifting of restrictions goes ahead then it should be absolutely fine either way. If the final stage of restrictions does not lift in time I personally don't see how they could possibly run the event, given the rules as interpreted by both MUK and local authorities at the moment. That would be segregation between paddock and spectators, and a 4000 cap on spectator numbers.

For what it is worth, they do run under a Motorsport UK permit (which hasn't been issued yet).

Going to be some nerves at Goodwood for sure, particuarly if the restriction lift is delayed, they only have a two and a bit week buffer from the current date so it would be very tight.

Latest statement from Boris seems confident that restrictions can be lifted on 21/6.
I’m sure goodwood are fingers crossed as no doubt the build up must be starting soon.

It’s squeaky bum time. If the restrictions aren’t lifted, it’s going to be impossible to run the event in its familiar format. It could still happen, but with a format more like the earliest F.O.S. events, I’d imagine, but with nobody allowed to move from their allocated seating areas. Let’s keep everything crossed that restrictions are indeed lifted.

Much speculation today that the 21 June freedom day is moving back to at least July 5
