Hi,

Sorry it this has already been covered somewhere before. Got weekend tickets for the members meeting in April. Never been before. Biggest headache appears to trying to find accommodation nearby. However I have a Mercedes V Class so quite happy to put mattress in back and sleep there on the Friday and Saturday night.

Question is, is this okay to do? Want to enjoy the day, have a beer or 2 and not be concerned about having to travel miles back to accommodation.

Cheers

From the Goodwood website.
Members Meeting FAQs said:
Overnight parking/camping is not permitted in any car park.

At this point in time, no camping facilities are available at the event.

Local accommodation can be found by using our new Goodwod Travel website, with specific packages available for Members' Meeting which can be viewed here.
You'll need to find some accomodation by the looks of it.

Keep it stiff

They may not allow it but from what I have seen over the last couple of years plenty of people do it and I did not see any evidence of it causing a fracas. Mind you, it was so effing cold last year that I don't think anybody cared about anything other than not freezing to death!

There is usually a classic bus service to the station which is not far and I think free for the members meeting. Then a train to somewhere nearby maybe.

It was snowing last year. Let’s hope it’s a bit warmer this year and we don’t need to worry about freezing to death !

Having been to them all I remember 72MM was shirtsleeves weather, sitting outside the Shell building jacket off drinking a beer and yes 76MM was bloody freezing!

To avoid the snow/ car park we left the car at our B&B last year and walked to the station to get the shuttle. Drivers will generally drop you off anywhere on their route if you ask, very helpful. Hopefully the new dates will get us back to the sunshine!

At the R & FoS there are fields of camper vans so why not at the MM?
Lock the doors & sleep away, I'd love to see some Jobsworth (usually imported from our inner cities) wake you & insist you move.
Ditto if you parked up at the Trundle car park, the streets of Chichester or join the many camper vans that are parked all year round on Worthing/Ferring sea front. .

I imagine it’s a restriction from the council rather than the estate as any chance to make money they will!
