GRRC badge only to gain entrance to the inner paddock?

Asking for a friend currently out of the country. He has a GRRC badge but does not have a ticket for Friday and Saturday (in process of sorting). With his GRRC metal badge and a general entrance ticket, will he get in and be able to go to the inner paddock? ie, no card paddock pass. Tks!

I did this. I last went a few years back, and the Paddock Passes were in with the Revival Tickets; any idea why this has changed? As a GRRC member, If you buy a ticket for the day you will more than likely want to go to the GRRC Paddock, why add this step in to the buying process if the are free of charge anyway?....I agree it's a nonsensical system, I've forgotten them several times. I bought my tickets in person at the ticket office this year and they dealt with paddock passes and pre-66 car park sticker before taking my ticket order.
Another obscure feature to be aware of is that the paddock pass not your GRRC badge gets you access to the "members" tunnel.

Experienced some poor customer service by one or two of the stewards (jobsworths) manning the entrance to the inmer paddock. Basically, made to feel it was your fault for not having a paddock pass and told this system had been in place for 11 years so p

They're right. It's always been the case that you need a pass. They can't win. Members moan like hell if people they think shouldn't be in the paddock do get in, so they police it as well as they can. Quite, how would they know if you weren’t trying it on? Anyone could say they’d forgotten their pass, I suppose the fairest way to deal with it is to default to doing what they did.I witnessed yesterday a family in jeans T-shirts / tracksuits that kind of thing and they rocked up to the paddock to be let in.
I was thinking no way have they got a paddock pass when low and behold he pulls out some passes. Then disappointment that he is incorrectly dressed and not allowed in! Good work by the staff for upholding the rules.
I also saw a member complain about the grid walk as it was only pin badges and not plus 1’s. From my recollection all literature I saw was quite clear on that but he was not a happy chap!!

As a non-GRRC oik - I was disappointed that the inner sanctum was extended this year to include both halves of the paling enclosure, all part of the creeping squeeze I (uncharitably) imagine. The good news was that the Whitsun Trophy field was accessible to all (as is always the case for St Mary's cars).

As I was going to the Rob Walker tribute grid walk, the security guys were doing a superb job of policing the policy. A chap next to me had a fellowship badge, but not a full GRRC member badge, and he was told by one of the marshalls further away that it could be okay, but he wasn’t a hundred percent sure. The security guy ( quite rightly ) told him that the fellowship badge wasn’t on his list, so asked him to go back.
