I think the tickets are sold out on the Goodwood website.

I think the days of free or discounted Friday and then Thursday tickets are long gone as they have no trouble selling out at full price now. Not seen any offers the last couple of years.

+1

The days of free tickets in papers I think is long gone. The odd manufacturer may send out some tickets close to the event but last year I’d already got my tickets by then as it was a week before.

Are grandstand tickets worth it? I was thinking to take my 5yo son, hes free admission but needs a grandstand ticket so would be a lot more if we do that.

They aren’t a essential as a lot of the grandstands are by areas where you can just stand by the hay barriers . But some people will say you get a better view in grandstand as your higher up , so comes down to personal opinion. I’ve done both and this year I’m not getting grandstand tickets

If anything like our 5 years olds we took last year then no as they can't sit still for more than 10 minutes anyway. Although it was hard for them to actually see the cars driving up so we ended up putting them on our shoulders which wasn't much fun either.

There is lots and lots of walking for little ones, so we took the festival wagon and they sat in their whilst we pulled them along. Plus handy for dumping all the usual kids stuff.

thanks that is useful i am thinking maybe not the best event for a hyperactive 5yo

think he might be more into a trip up to santapod again, a shame as i would have preferred the FoS!

The other problem is an early start (traffic builds up after 8am and potential long day. Even for the most seasoned adult it’s a tiring day let alone a young child.

Sorry I did sound a bit negative, but our twins really did enjoy their day. Luckily we camped the night before so only 15mins away from the main parking so not such an early start. Being a Thursday there wasn't many kids around so they had most of the kids bits to themselves. Vauxhall had a brilliant family bit with lots of games and things to play with. The entertainment later was good with the BMX, MTB and Motorcross bikers, so we sat had pizza on the grass and waited for the traffic to go. But I didn't have as much daddy time to view the cars as apparently that was a bit boring.
