As it’s my first time attending, I’m a little worried about what to wear... I know there’s not a dress code as such but the website says blue jeans are ‘strongly discouraged’ the problem is, that’s pretty much all I have!

Am I likely to get turned away at the gate if I’m dressed smart but wearing decent, smart blue jeans?

I really wouldn't worry too much and you certainly wont be refused entry. I would concentrate on making sure you'll be warm enough as it can be freezing there!

You won't get turned away. People aren't turned away from the Revival. I would concentrate on staying warm this weekend tbh!

When it's 10 degrees and a little breezy it can feel brutal out around the circuit. This weekend is looking like 1 degree and 20mph winds.

So, layers, hat, gloves! I've seen people clad head to toe in Subaru WRC gear walk in no problem, and to be honest if like them you're the sort of person actually attending for the racing and will be sat out around the circuit all day it's not going to matter in the slightest what you're wearing as long as you're dry and warm.

ukaskew is dead right, at the circuit it always feels ten degrees colder than anywhere else, I'm not kidding when I say take the warmest clothes you have. last year I wore a thick shirt, waistcoat, tweed jacket and wool overcoat, I still wasn't warm enough! Tomorrow is forecast to be colder than last year, I'm going in Winter woolies, thermal everything and fur-lined boots.

Normally I’d wear “country attire” tweed and shirt.

Tomorrow I have dug our all my hiking kit and will also sport my bright blue hiking bag just for extra layers. I’ve advised all my guests to be the same. Dressed for the conditions we will still be able to enjoy the day.

On Sunday I shall be wearing a Merino wool vest, flannel shirt, thick cardie, down-filled parka with fur-lined hood, woolley hat, scarf, ski-mitts and fur-lined winter boots. Seriously thinking about ditching the moleskin trousers in favour of salopettes.

As the Royal Marines say 'Any fool can be cold'.

An incomplete quote: “any fool can be comfortable” - this was given to me 20 years _ago at Sandhurst. We will going for comfort, with a mix of thermal, toasty and gin. Nothing wrong with Tweed or leather in layers.

Ed

The 'feels like' temp is showing -10 today and you can probably knock off a few more degrees if you're out at St Mary's etc. So yep, however prepared you think you are, bring a few more layers!

I’ve never bothered. It’s freezing in March at the circuit and experience has led me to be warm and remain warm than ‘properly attired’. No one really cares,we’re there to watch cars go around a track.
Long johns, base layers and other technical outdoor clothing are the way forward.
At the back of the circuit you are furthest away from any shelter.
I’ve just bought some hand warmers too!

Jesus Christ I was cold. I wore a t shirt, shirt, sweater, jacket and coat, a woolly hat, thermal trousers, jeans, snowboarding socks and decent gloves and I’ve only just warmed up!

Thanks for all the advice either way, probably should have taken more of it!
