Is anyone else getting a snow forecast on their weather apps for Goodwood this weekend?

Yes although at present it’s showing very light, I had a look at the netweather snow models yesterday and they weren’t matching the forecast so I’ll have a look again today.

Just looked, the current model shows all day light snow or possibly a rain/snow mix

Snow forecast for Sunday according to my weather source...

Mind you it's Goodwood, so expect sunshine, howling winds, snow, freezing temperatures and black ice all on the same day.

Didn't want to start another thread as this one is already weather related...

Anyone local know what the state of the car parks are? Not a lot we can do about it I guess, but best to be prepared.
I got stuck at the Revival last year (sunk in whilst parked) - now have some grippy mats that will be coming with me.

Probably about the same as the course at Cheltenham today!

I have Chicane Paddock parking, so will be on hard standing (I hope) - I can only imagine what the field car parks will be like, especially by the end of Sunday.

Car parks were quite boggy yesterday. Unfortunately heavy rain forecast for Thursday and Friday down here so they’re going to be worse.
Suzuki SJ410s recommended as transport....

Range Rover and wellies are looking like better choices all the time.

Can you get snow slicks for your racing classic??

I love that Goodwood persevere with a 'dress code' for the Members' Meeting. It's usually freezing, particularly if you venture around the circuit (very few seem to bother!) so practicality takes priority over dressing up.

Looking like 3c max and 15mph winds at best this weekend, that's going to feel pretty brutal at Goodwood.

The MM dress code is much more informal than say the Revival and given that everyone knows it gets cold into dusk - experience is wrap up well !

Yes, from experience, Goodwood is a very exposed place on a cold day. Ski kit and thermal wellies sound the order of the day. Amazing to think it was shirt sleeves, raybans, and deckchairs for the very first Members Meeting.

Whilst they no doubt have weather insurance, it will have a very high excess, so they are only likely to cancel at very late notice. But you cannot surely race when there is sleet/snow on the track.

Will be ‘interesting’ getting my Pantera there on Sunday for the Members Parade.

Not that it stopped me before driving

The first members meeting was 2 weeks earlier and that makes a big difference!

I’ve advised all my party to dress appropriately rather than being smart.

Super layering up for me.
The wind really bites this time of year.

Snow aside, any issues with any of the more exotic racing cars getting tyres up to temperature etc? I'm guessing the saloons etc will be fine, but I can't think of too many occasions when, for example, the Group 5 cars, would ever have been racing in near freezing conditions.

Quite. On the motorsport spectator scale my clothing will be nearer the 'Rally GB' end than 'Goodwood Revival'. My warmest clothing tends to be rather bright, but I can't imagine for a second anyone is going to care.

That is a great picture and I will be wrapping up warm instead of the tweed
