I've received an invitation to a talk on the Friday afternoon before the Members Meeting. It is for founder members of the GRRC on the clubs 20th anniversary. I think that it's invitation only but stand to be corrected.

My invitation arrived on Friday although it had been mentioned in an email before. It is invite only and founder members only, no guests and only one invite for family memberships.

If you call the office and tell them your membership number I’m sure they’ll be able to help.

So did we all attend and pick up the medal?

As an aside does anybody know if the membership numbers started at 0 or 1000? Ive not come across anybody below 1000 which I wasnt sure was whether or not because I wasnt "in the know" !

My membership is GRRC-333 - no idea what they start at or whether this actually reflects how early in the process I was. I was a GSA member but can't remember what the joining process was 20 years ago.

Ahh that sorts a few things ty. I suspect GSA folks got offered first slots. Dad isn’t really capable of giving such detailed info these days of when he first sent the stuff off.

I trust they do better at record keeping on the GRRC aside than the Aero club side - they have lost my details 3 times now!

Hi All,

I'm ex GSA, GRRC number under 600, wasn't invited and certainly no medal.

Bitter! Me?

And numbers did start at 1

Didn’t get an invite? Did you get the mail or the info to confirm your attendance for the invite?

If you ring up and give your details my understanding is they will be happy to provide your medal.

There is a thread about it on the GRRC forum which includes a response from Goodwood. A number of eligible members "slipped through the net" due to glitches in Goodwood's system that made it falsely appear they had gaps in their membership. (I know one of the five GSA founders with a single digit badge number who wasn't invited).

Ian - see my post above about my experiences of being lost in the Goodwood “glitches” with the Aero Club!

As it was we enjoyed the talk. I was the chap stood up most of the talk at the edge behind papa in the wheelchair.
