Goodwood Festival of Speed 2017: PH photo gallery

The best bits of another fantastic FoS from PH's resident supercar snapper

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is never a disappointment, and arguably the motoring event of the year; 2017 was no exception. From the excitement of the hill climb shootout, to the diversity and variety of the cars on display, to even the Red Arrows - Goodwood has it all.

This year's festival celebrated, amongst many things, 70 years of Ferrari. An incredible selection of Maranello greats drove up the hill over the weekend, including the 125S which was Ferrari's first road car, right up to the LaFerrari Aperta.

For the first time ever the Festival dedicated its iconic statue, which takes centre stage outside Goodwood House, to an individual and not a manufacturer. The artwork created by Gerry Judah and known as "The Five Ages of Ecclestone" celebrated the life and career of former F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone. A controversial choice maybe, but it was certainly impressive to behold: it featured five different cars from his time as a driver, manager, team owner, impresario and legend...

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS made its public debut and the show, and certainly drew a lot of attention. It was also the first time, as far as I'm aware of at least, that the new Ford GT has been seen driving in the UK. Both a yellow and a blue example took to the hill over the four days, and I have to say they looked sensational.

The new Alpine A110 coupe made an appearance alongside the likes of the Italdesign Zerouno, the Jaguar Project 8, McLaren 570S Spider, and the London Taxi Company's vision of the future of the London cab! Elsewhere the £10 million Rolls Royce Sweptail graced us mere mortals with its presence, and Aston Martin unveiled their hardcore upgrade to the Vulcan - the AMR Pro.

Of course there were F1 cars, Le Mans cars, rally cars, concept cars, and every other kind of car you care to mention, with some motorbikes mixed in there for good measure. There was even a full-size Lego McLaren 720S consisting of 280,000 pieces, the last of which was put in place by Lord March himself!

Full event coverage, and details of next year's festival, can be found on the Goodwood website; however, for now, take the time to scroll through some of our snaps from the event, and let us know which wonderful car was your favourite!

Great pics, it's also nice to see that the GT2RS did finally manage to pull off the obligatory 'donut'. See below link for the bottom of the hill failed attempt.

Great event, it was my first time there and i shall definately return! So many great cars, but my personal favourites were the Ferrari 250 GTO (never thought i'd ever get to see one of those in the flesh!) and the 1911 Fiat, 'The Beast of Turin', an absolutely awesome machine!smile

My first time to FOS although attended Revival before. The great weather was a bonus but the event was wonderfully organised and access to the paddock and proximity to the action made for a really great, high octane powered and infused day.

Visited on the Friday, surprisingly quiet / low key year I thought, but enjoyable all the same.

Lovely pics.

Amusing to scroll down the page and see a Bugatti Chiron followed by... a Ford Capri (albeit a Zakspeed one).

Thanks guys, always enjoy shooting the event, although no pressure for me as a member of the paying public shooting what he likes (that said, I'd quite like press access for new angles!)

Which one, I counted 3!??

Pretty special to be able to stand between 2 of them in the paddock (Nick Masons and Anthony Bamfords) and "virtually" touch probably close to £100m worth of the worlds most desirable Ferrari's, then stumble down 1 car to an equally ridiculous and just as rare 250LM. Insane.
