FOS ground conditions
Discussion
Few bits of mud, like under trees where the moving motor show marshals make everyone walk through the bog because the cars are using the metalled pathway No need for wellies anywhere, though
The grass is holding up fine though. No problems getting in or out of the car park, even with my silly fat tyres. Weather forecast is for the weather to get dryer as the weekend progresses, so it ought to be all good

Dunno what the ground is like yet but the queues to get in to the car park are daft, very badly organised and usually much better than this. It's just not moving most of the time.
Also mystified by the inordinate amount of time it took to actually get into the car park, especially having arrived at about 0715... Also, despite the shiny GRRC signs dotted around the place, the parking minions said we weren't allowed to follow them and had to park with everyone else. So the point of the signs is...?Back on subject, agree with others that conditions are quite good and shouldn't deteriorate mush over the next three days.
I got there at half 6 this morning and the ground conditions were not good. The metal walkways were covered in mud, which meant the bottom of my trousers got muddy, so I had to spend the day with muddy trousers. Later on in the morning the metal walkways were much better and remained so through out the day.
So, to update my own thread. Fantastic weather today - there will be a lot of pink lobster faced attendees tomorrow.
Ground conditions are really good - some areas of slight squelch on the way up the hill, but totally avoidable.
I wandered around in flip flops with no issues.
Traffic was bonkers though. I got in at 8.30 and there were queues back to Fontwell. Not sure what has gone wrong this year?
In other news though, the catering has got to silly-expensive levels now. Saw one place advertising a double cheeseburger for £11. take a picnic guys!

I took a GT3 RS into performance parking today and can echo the other comments: been a totally dry day, and there are no issues with driving silly cars into the fields. With no rain forecast, you should be totally fine for Saturday. Enjoy.
Re traffic, I took a very different approach this year: I arrived at 10:30ish and there was no traffic at all - zoomed straight up to the performance parking (which was abysmally signposted, you need to know where you are going) and was straight into the event in minutes. I also left late (6pm-ish) and no major issues getting out either.
So it's been a good day :-)

The rain that's forecast is expected to be late night/early morning and isn't supposed to be particularly heavy. If anything it might help to keep the previously mentioned dust down for a while.
Early visitors might get unlucky with a shower but it's looking to be another warm, dry and somewhat muggy day.
