Hi all,
I'm booked for the revival this year but I didn't book Grandstand tickets. Are they worth getting, I've got a 3 day entrance ticket.
Any thoughts, experiences or advice is welcome
Cheers

Hi there

I've been doing the Revival for many years. I can't make fridays due to work. My plan is Saturday in the Chicane grandstand, I rarely sit in the grandstand but stand with my nose and ears as close to the cars as possible to appreciate the smell and noise. Between races I walk out and peruse the trade stands which are just behind. Having a grandstand ticket means I can walk straight back in and lean over the fence whenever I want to. On Sunday I don't bother with a grandstand ticket but slowly move around the whole circuit appreciating racing from different corners. I do always make sure I'm at Lavant for the start of the TT but then keep moving, there's so much to see and appreciate around the circuit. I don't bother trying to wait for a tractor, the queues are far too long and I'm not yet that decrepit.

This works for me but depends on peoples legs etc.

Hope that helps

It depends how old/fit you are. It's a long day to be on your feet, and the day gets worse if it rains all day long like last year's Saturday. I had no coat so spent the day under a marquee at Lavant. I coughed up this year for a roving grandstand, which means I can get access to a seat if I feel tired or the weather is rotten, but it almost doubled the price. (I saved the cost by finding much cheaper accomodation than usual).

I reckon it's worth the cost if you can afford it. It gives you options.

Grandstands are a way of having somewhere to sit and soak up the racing, chicane and woodcote are good for racing action and the startline for all the razzamtazz that goes with it, also good for celebrity spotting in the pits. Bought roving for friday and woodcote for sat/sun.

Thanks all, we will be 2 blokes who love cars and to ladies that are not as keen, but hopefully they will enjoy the event. Is it possible to buy grandstand tickets on the day ?
Cheers

No tickets available on the day, most grandstands get sold out on Saturday and Sunday, Friday roving isn't too bad, plenty of space.

Although grandstands make the day expensive - they were a great result on the saturday last year!!

Thanks everyone, it looks like maybe the Saturday might be a good idea for grandstand tickets.

If it rains, Grandstands are worth every penny.
